Daniel Bryan in-ring w/ Byron Saxton
Bryan came out and noted that he’s not in jeans and a flannel, he’s wearing his gear because he’s returning to the ring and he feels right at home.
Saxton showed the footage of Kane’s attack on Bryan from last April, in the build to WWE Extreme Rules, and asked Bryan about facing him tonight and dealing with the brutality that comes with him.
Bryan said that nobody knows what Kane is capable of like he does. He talked about their long history as opponents and as a tag team, and said that he knows Kane inside and out.
He said that after that attack from Kane, many doctors told him he would never wrestle again. He said he is back, but he isn’t 100% certain that something won’t go wrong.
He said that he is back, though, and that he is going to win tonight, and he’s going to go and win the Royal Rumble Match, then he’s going to go to WrestleMania and win there too. He said he knows that most people think that’s just a dream, but that he knows he can do it, and the people know he can do it.
When Bryan was wrapping up, The Authority (Triple H, Seth Rollins, Big Show, and J & J Security) came out to accompany Kane to the ring. Triple H led the way with that trademark smug smile on his face, hardly ever breaking eye contact with Bryan the whole way down the ramp.
Bryan’s never been the best talker, but he handles himself just fine. This was an easy promo to deliver, and he did exactly what he needed to do.
