nWo, The Ascension, JBL and Road Dogg promo

Hall opened up with a nice “Hey yo.”

He said that you can’t have a reunion without X-Pac, Hall and Nash. He then took a survey to see how many people were there for the nWo, and they got a big cheer.

Nash said that the nWo caused Vince McMahon to raise his game, causing the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin, D-Generation X, and the entire Attitude Era. He jokingly said that they may have big egos, but that it is fair to say that they are responsible for everything great that has ever been created.

X-Pac was about to take his turn, but they were interrupted by Konnor and Viktor.

Konnor and Viktor ran down the nWo, pointing out that there is no tag team better than them, especially some tag team from WCW.

They said it was their time to rise, and Hall incited things by flicking the toothpick at Konnor, but JBL shot up and said this isn’t going to happen.

JBL walked to the ramp and removed his shirt to reveal the APA shirt, as he called out Ron Simmons. The APA and the nWo stood off with The Ascension, but before anything else could happen, The New Age Outlaws came out.

Road Dogg called nWo “thoroughbreds,” and APA “racehorses,” but asked who invited the “jackasses,” motioning to The Ascension.

The New Age Outlaws took out The Ascension, leaving Viktor for JBL and a Clothesline from Hell.

After all the promos and the squash matches, it’s nice to see The Ascension get theirs, but I’m sure they’ll get this one back.

Later in the night, it was announced that The Ascension would face NAO on Sunday.

The Authority backstage

The Authority were set to reveal John Cena’s opponent(s) for the night, and called for a drumroll, but of course, they had to fine tune that as well.

Triple H revealed Cena’s opponent to be Seth Rollins, and the drummer stopped, but they yelled at him and told him to keep going.

Stephanie said that Cena would also face Big Show, and the drummer stopped again, and they again yelled at him.

Triple H revealed his third opponent to be Kane, as they posed for the big reveal, but their faces showed that the drummer not stopping ruined their moment. This time they yelled at him to stop, then fired him, and Triple H said he would never work in this town again.

Stephanie announced that they would be at ringside to watch the “systematic self-destruction of John Cena,” and a trumpet player started playing Taps, right in Triple H’s ear. They then walked off, clearly upset with how their musical experiment played out.

This was awesome because it was hilarious, but they still were able to play their heel characters. They are both so good.
