WWE Royal Rumble Predictions: The Usos (C) vs. The Miz and Damien Mizdow for the WWE Tag Team Championship
By Mike Smith
At the WWE Royal Rumble, The Usos will put their WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Miz and Damien Mizdow.
After The Usos became the #1 Contenders to Miz and Mizdow’s tag titles, Miz tried to use Naomi, Jimmy Uso’s wife, to distract them and try and take them out of the match. That plan was not very successful, and at the last minute, The Usos and Naomi turned the tables and won themselves the tag titles.
Miz and Mizdow have been looking to get them back, but they have not succeeded and they’re last chance may come on Sunday, in Philadelphia.
What will happen when thee two teams meet in Philly? Jack Jorgensen, Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Brian Rzeppa, Callum Wiggins, Becca Cook, Carl Gac, Tim Sherry, Chris Schubert, and Mike Smith have some predictions:

Jack’s Take: Jimmy and Jey get the win in this one and we also should start to see some real seeds be planted for a split between the Miz and Damien Sandow and the crowd in Philly will eat that right up.
Jack’s Prediction: The Usos
Rob’s Take: This will be yet another installment of this rivalry, which has seen most of the possible match scenarios play out multiple times already.
However, these four should be able to pull out all of their tricks to settle this feud. It should be a fun one that will include Mizdow finally becoming a complete babyface and turning on Miz for not getting proper treatment. It will happen after The Usos win and retain their titles.
Rob’s Prediction: The Usos
Jordan’s Take: The Usos will retain the title as The Miz and Damien Mizdow continue to tease their potential split. Wonder if The Ascension attack The Usos after the match.
Jordan’s Prediction: The Usos
Brian’s Take: It may just be me, but I can’t find myself able to get invested in anything that The Usos do. I loved their series of matches against Luke Harper and Erick Rowan and they’re always solid in the ring, but they really don’t do anything impressive out of the ring. They’ve tried to break that mold throughout this feud, but to me it just isn’t clicking.
Along with that, we’re probably nearing the end of the Miz/Mizdow pairing, as there’s not much else that can be done between the two. With that in mind, I think The Usos will come out on top and add some tension between actor/stunt double.
Brian’s Prediction: The Usos
Callum’s Take: The WWE Tag Team Championship match seems to fall quite away behind the significance of the main event matches. However, they will carry a great burden of warming the audience up for the biggest events of the evening, with the potential of the other three matches on the undercard not of the same level. The Usos were two of the standout stars of 2014 and carried the tag team division on their broad Samoan shoulders. The Miz and Damien Mizdow might be comic relief characters, but can more than hold their own in the ring, depending on whether Mizdow gets in the match or not.
So, this should be a solid match, and due to the few matches on the card, will likely be given a fair amount of time to drag the best out of both teams. However, with the A-List coupling of Miz and his stunt double nearing their natural conclusion as a partnership to launch Mizdow into a babyface, it makes little since to give them the belts again. Also, with The Ascension gradually rising up the ranks, they will be taking the titles off a face team, and that means The Usos.
Callum’s Prediction: The Usos
Becca’s Take: This will be another entertaining match, but the whole tag team division has became a bit dull again. There are no true storylines, just random feuds. Mizdow is the only person keeping me interested in the tag teams nowadays, but I predict that The Usos will retain the titles in order to build up to some form of WrestleMania Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match.
Becca’s Prediction: The Usos
Carl’s Take: Are there any other tag teams in the company that are allowed to have a go for the belts? Apparently not.
The Usos are consistently good in the ring and more than worthy of the spot they’re in. The only thing I’m not too bothered about is The Miz.
The team of Miz and Mizdow was a breath of fresh air when it first came about but it seems now the company are scared to push them against each other properly. Mizdow is one of the best things currently on WWE TV but how long will that last once he and Miz finally split? They should get the win here before clashing in the Rumble, Mizdow eliminates Miz from the match and Miz goes mental at ringside, while Mizdow celebrates like a crazy man. This leads to a match at WrestleMania, where Mizdow brings out his own stunt double and beats the Miz on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Carl’s Prediction: The Miz and Damien Mizdow
Tim’s Take: The Usos will retain their titles with a clean win. The Miz/Mizdow experiment is over. Mizdow is still somewhat entertaining but it’s getting a little old.
Tim’s Prediction: The Usos
Chris’ Take: The John Cenas of the tag team division, The Usos will battle The Miz and Mizdow. WWE has planted the seeds of Mizdow and Miz separating, which could culminate during the Rumble Match. When the WWE has concerns about the tag division, they keep the belts on The Usos. They will do that again here, while planting the seed even more for Miz and Mizdow.
Chris’ Prediction: The Usos
Mike’s Take: The Usos are winning this match.
The big questions here are: How do Miz and Mizdow clash in this match? And, how do they keep it together, in order to suspend their official breakup to the Rumble Match itself?
I believe that Mizdow will tag in the match, then when he’s in trouble, will look to Miz for a tag, only for Miz to drop off the apron. Later on, backstage, we will see Miz explain his actions, and Mizdow accept his apology.
What happens in the Rumble will be an entirely different story.
