Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Contract Signing w/ William Regal
Regal introduced both men and said that this wouldn’t be like every other contract signing in WWE, which got a bit of a laugh from the crowd.
Regal asked Zayn to sign, and Zayn did. Regal then pushed the contract to Owens, and asked him to do the same, but Owens just kept staring at Zayn.
Zayn said that Owens has a mic, and that he can tell him, and the world, why he did what he did. Owens stayed quiet, and Zayn got angrier.
Zayn said that they spent the past 12 years tearing each other apart so that they could get where they are, and he really should’ve seen Owens’ actions coming, but he didn’t.
He said he didn’t think that Owens wouldn’t turn his back on him at R Evolution, since it was the night that they both truly arrived, but that it doesn’t matter, because he’s going to beat the hell out of Owens on February 11th.
Owens noticed that the contract said non-title, and refused to sign it. He said that his attacks on Zayn haven’t been personal, and it’s all been about winning the NXT Championship, because that means more money and a better life for him and his family.
Regal refused to change it at first, but Zayn cut Regal off, looking a little desperate.
Zayn told Regal that he has to make it a title match, because Owens isn’t going to give up the crusade, and that they both want it that way anyway, and so does the crowd.
After a little consideration, Regal amended the contract right there, and Zayn signed off on it. Regal returned the contract to Owens, and he signed it to make the match official.
Before Owens walked off, he threw the contract at Zayn, before flipping the pen in his direction too. Regal stepped in front of Zayn, who was making a move towards Owens, and that allowed Owens to quietly walk up the ramp.
What a great segment. They are doing a great job of slowly introducing Owens, and really making sure that his presence is felt.
