Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins, Kane, Big Show, and J & J Security in a 5-on-2 Handicap Match
The Authority attacked Bryan and Reigns before the match, knocking Reigns out of the ring, and leaving a very vulnerable Bryan to start the match.
Rollins pulled out an early German suplex, then he hopped around like Brock Lesnar, before he tagged out of the match. The Authority continued to work on Bryan, while Reigns stayed laid out at ringside.
After Bryan started to mount a comeback against J & J, Kane entered the match and hit a chokeslam against Bryan, but Reigns recovered to break up the pin, then he was promptly dispatched again.
The 5-on-1 attack continued on Bryan, and they prepared to put him through a table, until Ryback’s music hit, and The Big Guy came out with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan.
Ryback, Ziggler and Rowan took out Rollins, Show and Kane, leaving Bryan in the ring with J & J. Bryan took over the match and hit the Yes Kicks on both of them, then looked for the running knee, but Reigns tagged himself in and hit a spear for the win, locking eyes with Bryan during the three-count.
Reigns and Bryan defeat J & J Security, Rollins, Show and Kane via pinfall.
After the match, Bryan yelled at Reigns, since Bryan did all the work in that match, then Reigns came in and took the win. Reigns laughed at Bryan and walked away, but Bryan grabbed him and pulled him back. Bryan shoved Reigns, and Reigns fell back into the ropes, but bounced off and hit him with a spear.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were shown backstage watching on a monitor, and they seemed very pleased.
3.75 out of 5 stars – It’s hard to rate this match, because it was more of a giant angle than a match, so I’ll rate the segment as a whole.
Good segment, which seemed to setup the three “fired” Superstars in a six-man tag at Fastlane vs. The Authority guys (Rollins, Kane and Show). It also flipped the build to Bryan-Reigns on it’s head, and brought a completely new dynamic to that match, one that immediately amped up the excitement.
