Triple H and Ric Flair promo
Triple H came out to address Sting. He said that at Fastlane, WCW will stand in the ring with WWE. He started to talk about how he’s going to show Sting that he doesn’t belong in WWE, but The Nature Boy interrupted.
Flair came out and began to speak, but Triple H stopped him. He said he knew what Flair was going to say, that he shouldn’t take Sting lightly. He talked about some of the epic encounters that Flair had with Sting, and how he watched them all, and how he followed Sting’s whole career, all the way up to when he “vanished” (read: went to TNA) after standing tall as WCW closed their doors.
He said Sting should’ve stayed away, because now he’s finally here, and he’s going to turn him right back around. Triple H said he’s no Flair, but that Flair’s no Triple H when it comes to beating Sting.
Flair mocked Triple H for being scared and falling down last week, but Triple H shoved Flair to the ground. He got right in Flair’s face and said that only his wife and kids mean more to him than the WWE, and that he’s going to protect them from the face of WCW.
This was not the Triple H-Flair love-fest that I thought we were going to see. They put themselves in the rare position of having to build to a promo on PPV that’s going to build to a match at the next PPV. It’s a difficult thing to do, but if anybody could’ve pulled it off, it’s Triple H, and he did.
