William Regal backstage
Regal called Rival, “The most shocking event in NXT history.”
Regal clarified that the title could exchange hands on a referee stoppage, then he addressed Kevin Owens. Regal said that Owens may think he’s a prize fighter, but that he doesn’t make the rules, Regal does.
Regal announced that Owens would take on Neville tonight, in a non-title match. He said that Neville didn’t deserve a title shot, but that he did deserve a rematch with Owens, after Owens put him in the hospital back in December.
If you have any plans of starting a wrestling promotion, kindly use Mr. Regal as your template for an authority figure.

Owens said that people are upset with his actions at TakeOver: Rival, but that they proved he never lied to Sami Zayn, and that his intentions were solely on winning the NXT Championship. Owens said who he beats and how he beats them is irrelevant.
Owens said that Sami Zayn is in the past, and that it’s time to look toward the future, which is Finn Balor. He then warned Balor that his performance last week wasn’t a one-time thing, and that the same beatdown is in Balor’s future.
Awesome promo from Owens. There is nobody quite like him.
