WWE Fastlane Predictions: Sting and Triple H Face-to-Face
By Mike Smith
This Sunday, at WWE Fastlane, Sting and Triple H will meet in a face-to-face confrontation to discuss Sting’s repeated interference in The Authority’s business.
Sting made his first WWE appearance at WWE Survivor Series, when Team Cena battled Team Authority, with the stipulation being that if Team Cena lost, all the members except for John Cena would lose their jobs, but if Team Authority lost, they would be out of power. Dolph Ziggler had the match ended when he had Seth Rollins beaten twice, but both times Triple H stopped the count by attacking the referee. He called for his own referee, Scott Armstong, took out Ziggler and watched Armstrong get to a count of two, before Sting interrupted.
Sting came out to the ring, hit Triple H with a Scorpion Death Drop, then draped Ziggler over Rollins, as the original referee climbed back in and counted The Authority out of power.
A few months later, The Authority returned and fired Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan, but Cena had an opportunity to get their jobs back in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match against Rollins, Big Show and Kane. Cena seemed beaten, until Sting made another appearance, his first on Monday Night Raw, allowing Cena to roll-up Rollins for the win.
Triple H freaked out, and would later demand that Sting meet him face-to-face at Fastlane, but he never heard a response. He demanded Sting’s answer a few weeks ago, and got one by way of a fake Sting that scared him off his feet, and a message on the TitanTron, which read, “I Accept.”
What will happen when these two icons meet face-to-face? Will Triple H finally get some form of retribution on Sting? Rob Wolkenbrod, Callum Wiggins, and Mike Smith have some predictions:

Rob’s Take: We are set to see the third WWE TV appearance of Sting, who is going to go face-to-face with Triple H.
I think this is where we get the first WrestleMania 31 match officially announced. How they come to the conclusion of it during the segment will be interesting to follow. Will HHH demand the match? Will Sting face his first bit of adversity since coming to WWE?
Callum’s Take: I can’t exactly be overly excited by the prospect of a 20-30 minute long promo on a PPV, but when Sting speaks his first words in WWE, I will be there to witness it. It will be interesting how The Vigilante explains his actions against The Authority, and how they build towards a potential match at WrestleMania. Nevertheless, it will not prove the most exciting content of Fast Lane, until it ends with a customary Scorpion Death Drop or Pedigree.
Mike’s Take: I love that they’re having this confrontation on PPV. I know it’s just a ploy to sell the Network, but it makes it feel big, like No Way Out 2012, when Triple H appeared in the ring to challenge Brock Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam.
I think Triple H is going to try and make Sting just walk out, but Sting is going to challenge him to a match at WrestleMania. Triple H will accept, go for a punch, but Sting will counter and go for a Scorpion Death Drop.
