WWE Fastlane Predictions: The Usos (C) vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro for the WWE Tag Team Championship
By Mike Smith
At WWE Fastlane, The Usos are going to defend their WWE Tag Team Championship against WWE’s hottest tag team, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.
The team of Kidd and Cesaro was thrown together a few months ago, with both men having nothing to do the night of a Tag Team Turmoil Match. They performed pretty well, and the team stuck together.
Since that night, Kidd and Cesaro have been in pursuit of a tag title shot. They defeated The New Day on the WWE Royal Rumble Kickoff Show, and since then have had their eyes set on The Usos.
In recent weeks, Kidd and Cesaro have each had a singles win over one of The Usos, and they appear to have the upper-hand heading into this matchup.
Will The Usos retain their tag titles? Will Kidd and Cesaro grab that elusive brass ring? Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Callum Wiggins, Tim Sherry, and Mike Smith have some predictions:

Rob’s Take: While Cesaro and Tyson Kidd are extremely talented, they are just place-holders for The Ascension, who will likely face The Usos at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Despite this, I’m expecting a very fun match from these four. I think it’s going to rival the match that The Usos had with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan at last year’s Battleground PPV.
Rob’s Prediction: The Usos
Jordan’s Take: Both Kidd and Cesaro are excellent in-ring competitors. Cesaro is good enough to have a legitimate singles run but that is never going to happen. With The Usos’ father, Rikishi, being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, WWE likely would want the Tag Team Championship belts on The Usos leading up to WrestleMania. This will be a very good match but The Usos will prevail in the end. I’d imagine a program between The Usos and The Ascension is on deck for WrestleMania.
Jordan’s Prediction: The Usos
Callum’s Take: When you make a match with four competitors that always deliver in the ring, you are unlikely to end up with a poor contest. The Usos are the cream of an otherwise slightly lackluster tag team division. Yet the chemistry of Cesaro and Kidd has been an impressive addition in recent months, as two stars lacking direction have been put to better use than if they were left apart.
This is interesting, as it mainly depends on plans the company have for the titles at WrestleMania. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will push The Ascension towards the titles at the big event, something I’m not exactly thrilled about. In that case, The Usos will likely hold onto their belts into March after a solid battle here.
Callum’s Prediction: The Usos
Tim’s Take: I’m calling it now, this match will steal the show. The talent level of the 4 guys in this ring is off the charts, and, as evidenced by their recent matches, they have outstanding chemistry together. Unfortunately (for this fan at least) Cesaro and Kidd will lose here. They are holding the contenders spot for The Ascension who will move in to the tag title scene starting Monday. It’ll be fun while it lasts but The Usos should win clean.
Tim’s Prediction: The Usos
Mike’s Take: The Usos should win this match. I expect them to induct their father Rikishi into the WWE Hall of Fame as the WWE Tag Team Champions. That being said, I’m not sure how they’re going to execute it.
I expect another big match at WrestleMania, where The Usos will defend against multiple teams, including Kidd and Cesaro. I would’ve expected The Ascension to get a straight two-on-two match, but they won’t because of the lack of reception they’ve received.
I think The Usos will win and it will be clean, but it won’t be a very decisive win, and there will be a ton of moving parts at the end.
Mike’s Prediction: The Usos
Another clean sweep, with all five of us picking The Usos. Do you think Kidd and Cesaro have a chance at walking out with the tag titles? Let us know in the comments section below.
