Rusev, Lana and Jack Swagger promo
Rusev held up the United States Championship and said that this is a championship, and he is a champion. Lana said that a champion stands tall.
They said that Rusev doesn’t have to accept Cena’s challenge, she then introduced some images of Rusev’s match with John Cena at Fastlane.
Lana said that Rusev is a champion, and he ignores challengers that are inferior.
Lana read a congratulatory email that Rusev received from Vladimir Putin.
Rusev said that he will have a great match at WrestleMania, but not against Cena, instead it will be against an opponent that’s worth his time. He said he will beat that opponent like he beat everybody else.
Rusev said he turned Cena from “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect,” into “beaten, broken and crushed.”
Swagger came out and asked Rusev if he was scared. He said if Rusev is scared to fight, he’s in the wrong city. Swagger got a cheap pop from Atlanta, then let Rusev know he was surrounded by real Americans.
Swagger said he’d never get tired of leading the “We, the people” chants, then he led one, then the brawl was on.
Swagger dominated the early going, but Rusev got back in with a series of brutal kicks, before he locked in The Accolade and forced Swagger to tap, as the Russian flag came down and was hanging above the ring.
This was a good promo. I just really wish that the Vladimir Putin stuff would at least be toned down. It really takes away from what their doing. It’s a cheap publicity stunt that’s gone on far too long.
