What if Cesaro never won the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal?
Around this time last year, Cesaro was one of the hottest Superstars in WWE. He was paired with Jack Swagger on The Real Americans. However, The Swiss Superman was outgrowing him due to his popularity.
WWE took notice of Cesaro’s popularity, so they created tension between him and Swagger. This led to the duo splitting up during the WWE WrestleMania 31 pre-show. With his momentum still running high, WWE had him win the inaugural André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal later in the night to complete what looked like a face turn.
So what-if Cesaro still broke up with Swagger but never won the battle royal?
Cesaro would have never received his WrestleMania moment that would carry over into the following night’s Raw episode. His popularity level would still be high, but not what it could have been. The failed alignment of Paul Heyman and Cesaro would have never happened either.
In the end, Cesaro would be floating around the mid-card for the Intercontinental and United States Championship like he did upon his arrival a few years ago. WWE would feel like they do today that he cannot connect with the crowd, so they would halt any type of push for him.
In essence, nothing would change for Cesaro in the months following WrestleMania 30.
