John Cena and Rusev Contract Signing w/ Michael Cole

Cena got on the mic before Rusev even came out.

Cena said that he has signed a lot of contracts in his careers, but that this one is, by-far, the most important.

Cena really put Rusev over, for how great he is, calling him “The Champion of the United States.” He said that Rusev represents the United States, and everybody who lives there.

Cena said it doesn’t do anybody any good for him to whip Rusev all over the ring, as long as Rusev is holding that title.

Cena said that Rusev has been given great opportunities because he lives in America, yet all he does is berate and belittle the country.

Cena said that this is not a contract, it’s a declaration of independence, and this is their revolution to take back the greatest country on Earth.

Cena said that Rusev is going to find out that you can only push the United States so far before we come back fighting.

Rusev came out with a man, in place of Lana. The man was Rusev’s attorney, and said that Rusev would not be signing the contract.

The attorney said that Rusev would sign the contract, if Cena agreed to step aside and allow Rusev the opportunity to exercise his right to free speech.

Rusev said that America thrives on second chances. He said that he beat Cena at WWE Fastlane.

Rusev said that this is a country of failures. He called Cena’s parents failures, and said that his children would be too. He said that America is a “cancer to the world.”

Rusev eventually signed the contract, before flipping the table, knocking Cena over, and escaping with his attorney.

What an absolute disaster this was. Most of the terribleness had nothing to do with the attorney, who apparently had never tried to do a Russian accent in his life, but he certainly didn’t help matters.

Sidenote on the attorney: the fact that JBL literally spoke over him on commentary was an absolute disgrace. If you’re going to mock this guy that you sent out there, don’t send him out there.
