The Nexus vs. The Shield

I know, both factions are defunct. It’s not like they’ll get back together by next year’s WrestleMania and face off. This match would need a lot of build up, and good storytelling.

Beginning with the Shield, the audience has to be thoroughly convinced that Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose forgive Seth Rollins, which is a lot easier said than done. This kind of storytelling can’t be sloppily thrown together. As an audience, we need to be sold on the fact that Rollins needs the Hounds of Justice and vice versa.

The Nexus’ reformation might be more interesting than that of the Shield. The three guys that could reform the Nexus are the former leader, Wade “Bad News” Barrett, Ryback, who was known as Skip Sheffield during the Nexus years, and yes, Daniel Bryan, who was exiled out of the group.

The trouble with booking this match: timing would have to be perfect for all competitors. Four of the six men that would competing in the six-man tag match are considered top-card individuals, and they are world title picture performers as of now. As long as nobody is being taken out of a legitimate title spot for this match, this would be fun to see at a future WrestleMania.

This six-man tag match may need a stipulation, maybe no disqualifications and an incentive to win, just to give the match a little more flavor.
