NXT Divas
After the main roster Divas, there is so much depth in NXT that could headline in the future.
Charlotte and Sasha Banks are the cream of the crop of the NXT Divas. The former was the most recent NXT Women’s Champion and the latter is the current one. They already feuded for the belt, which led to a chunk of tremendous matches. They had a great one at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution and stood out in the fatal 4-way at TakeOver: Rival.
Charlotte is likely to receive a main roster spot very soon. This was the case even before AJ Lee retired from WWE. The daughter of Ric Flair has all the ability to be a future Divas Champion because of her imposing size and always improving in-ring skill. Her promos aren’t fully there, but she has made plenty of strides over the past year and change.
Sasha Banks is probably next in line. She has been over with the NXT fans for a long time because of her charisma, in-ring ability and just because she is flat-out entertaining. No one can deny she cannot work a crowd.
Banks has the ability to be a Divas Champion one day. With how young she is (23), she has a very long career ahead of her in WWE.
Becky Lynch is a bit of an unknown, as her development is ongoing. She has shown solid ability in the ring and has been very good as a sidekick heel to Banks. Once we gets more time headlining NXT Divas matches, we will get a better look at her.
Then there’s Bayley. Her character is perfectly made for the live events and at Full Sail University. The Huggable One is just so likable and has a great gimmick.
However, when she gets called up to the main roster, you can just sense that Vince McMahon won’t see much in her. Like Emma, Bayley may be seen as a comedy act who falls flat on her face upon arrival. It would be a shame because she will be very over with the children and probably many other demographics.
There’s also Dana Brooke, who will debut on next week’s episode of NXT. No one has seen her perform on TV, so we cannot evaluate her yet.
The NXT Divas at the top should help out the main roster very soon. After that, there’s some question, but plenty of potential for greatness.
