Backstage, EC3 plugs his Twitter then says he has an announcement tonight. Tyrus is holding some red, white and blue balloons. He looks so thrilled to be there. You guessed it, another commercial. Gotta pay the bills right, because they’re certainly not paying the wrestlers. Too soon?
EC3 and Tyrus Promo
Back from the break, EC3 and Tyrus come to the ring.
EC3 cuts an election day debate-style promo, complete with a podium and Tyrus holding up signs. Dual “you can’t wrestle/yes he can” chants start.
EC3 announces that he’s the next TNA Heavyweight Champion. “EC3 2015 for TNA Champ” is the slogan.
EC3 then goes over his accomplishments that qualify him for the belt and even shows some funny charts showing if he becomes champ, unemployment will go down and kids will stop being lazy. This brings out the boo birds and it almost drowns him out. Mr. Anderson’s music hits.
Anderson gets in the ring and says EC3 has a future but not as champ. He then says you don’t politic your way to a title (probably a shot at WWE) you work hard to win it. This leads to Anderson clearing the ring.
EC3 could be the top heel, whether that’s heel heat or “X-Pac” heat, I’m not sure, maybe a little bit of both. Segment went too long and it was the third non talking segment of the show. Keep in mind its a two hour show and now they only have 30 minutes left to put on two championship matches.
A promo is shown for the Knockouts title match that’s next. Commercial time.
