WWE SmackDown Review: Roman Reigns vs. Kane
By Evan Gomes
Dean Ambrose vs Sheamus
Result: Ambrose def. Sheamus (Roll-up)
Rating: 2.75 stars out of 5 stars
Sheamus and Ambrose start as we come back from break. The two trade control of the match, with Sheamus getting in some great looking european uppercuts. A massive knee sends Ambrose to the outside. Sheamus sends Dean into the barricade and slides into the ring as we head to break.
Back from break, Ambrose is mounting a comeback with jabs and headbutts. Ambrose gets caught in a Cloverleaf, but makes it to the rope. Ambrose reverses a White Noise attempt, but gets caught in a second one. Dean slips out to ringside to avoid a Brogue Kick, and manages to hit his rebound clothesline to regain control. Ambrose hits Sheamus with a suicide dive on his second attempt, as his first attempt he met a forearm. Sheamus back in control, but is hit with another rebound clothesline. Crowd begins chanting “This is Awesome”. Ambrose goes to the top rope but is interrupted by Sheamus. He dodges an attack by the Irishman, knocks Sheamus’ head into the ring post and rolls him up for the victory.
A good solid match to kick off SmackDown. Ambrose gets a little extra momentum going in to Payback.
Rollins and Kane Backstage Segment
Rollins reminds Kane if he loses his title, Kane loses his job. Kane says he’s set for life and doesn’t need a paycheque from the Authority. Rollins tells Kane he needs to do the right thing. Kane says he won’t know the right thing, even during the match. Kane then informs Rollins of his match tonight against Ryback. That should be good.
