WWE SmackDown Review: Roman Reigns vs. Kane
By Evan Gomes
An advertisement for the Elimination Chamber is run, and up next we will get an update on Daniel Bryan’s health. We get a video of Bryan’s relinquishing of the Intercontinental Title from Raw. He seems so genuine, and I think that’s why he gets the pop he gets. Hopefully we can see more matches from him in he future.
Bo Dallas vs Neville
Result: Neville def. Dallas (Red Arr0w)
Rating: 2.2 stars out of 5 star
Bo Dallas is out first, and he talks about Bryan. He says Bryan being gone is an opportunity for Dallas to be there for the WWE Universe. He talks through the five stages of grief:
1. Denial. He says there is no denying Bryan let them down.
2. Anger. Anger is healthy, especially when directed at Bryan for letting them down.
3. Bargaining. There will be a bargain on Bryan t-shirts now that he is gone.
4. Depression. Which will overtake Bryan when he knows the WWE Universe will forget about him completely.
5. Acceptance. Dallas can help the WWE Universe accept that Bryan will never come back. As long as we Bo-lieve.
Bryan is being used to get a lot of cheap heat tonight. Being the guy he is, I’m sure Daniel probably finds it funny.
We come back from break in the middle of the match. Barrett is out on commentary, which means that we won’t be commenting much on the match itself. Dallas smashes Neville onto the apron. Barrett mentions he may knight Dallas one day, which would make Dallas even more insufferable. Neville makes a comeback and hits the Red Arrow for the win. After the match, Barrett says Neville is in for some corporal punishment, and that it’ll come in the form of a Bull Hammer. Barrett is really working the King gimmick.
While definitely not a match even close to their NXT classics, this match was hurt even further by most of the action happening on the commercial break. Dallas’ promo before was fun, and Barrett put a little extra heat on his program with Neville at the end.
