WWE Payback: Preview and Predictions

Who will earn a measure of Payback this Sunday?

This Sunday WWE will present Payback from Baltimore, and there are plenty of exciting matches on the card. Here are some previews of the action, and some predictions for the night’s matches. At Extreme Rules, I was 4 for 7 with a push (Bryan’s match being cancelled). Aiming for above 50% again.

Kick Off Show: Meta Powers (Curtis Axel and Macho Mandow) vs The Ascension

Preview: WWE looks to capture the magic of the Mega Powers again by reuniting Macho Man and Hulk Hogan, now in the form of Macho Mandow and Axelmania. This is a fun pairing, one that I hoped would happen as soon as Macho Mandow appeared, but it doesn’t look to be a long-term thing for either guy. The Ascension meanwhile continue to be a mishandled NXT call up, and need a lot of work in order to be taken seriously in the current tag team division.

Prediction: WWE is probably not concerned with making The Ascension look good now, considering they haven’t in the past and they currently have heel champions. Look for a fun match, ending with a leg drop or an elbow drop, followed by prayers, vitamins, and Slim Jims. Mandow and Axel take the pre-show.
