WWE Elimination Chamber Results 2015: Tag Team Championship Match
By Evan Gomes
Who survived the first tag team elimination chamber match and walked out tag team champions?
After an intense match to kick off Elimination Chamber, the power of positivity prevailed and the New Day retained their WWE Tag Team championship. The match was a tremendous match involving some of the best teams in WWE currently. We learned on the pre-show that the Director of Operations Kane rewarded the New Day and allowed all of the members of the team to participate in the match, so all three were locked in their pod and we would see how that would effect the outcome of the match.
The first two teams to start the match were The Ascension and the Lucha Dragons, two former NXT tag team champions. Kalisto went on top of the New Day’s pod and had his leg dragged into the pod and beaten on by the tag champs. Sin Cara managed to hit a senton off of the top of the pod onto The Ascension just before the first team came out of the pod: Kidd and Cesaro. The former champs were in control as the next team entered: Los Matadores. El Torito was on top of their pod and hit a flying hurricanrana on Cesaro once Los Matadores was allowed out.
Kaliso climbed to the very top of the chamber in the middle and then dropped onto The Ascension and Cesaro in a cool looking spot. The Ascension would throw El Torito on to one Matadore, and hit the Fall of Man for the other to eliminate the bullfighters. Another Fall of Man was hit on the Lucha Dragons to eliminate them as well. Ascension was booked very strong and looked great during the match.
Third out to join The Ascension and Kidd & Cesaro were the Prime Time Players. PTP came out and had a ton of momentum and ended up eliminating The Ascension after Darren Young hit his finished on Viktor for a cover.
And lastly it was time to clap for your tag champs as New Day entered last. Prime Time Players, Cesaro & Kidd hit a triple chain suplex on the New Day to try to neutralize their numbers advantage. Cesaro and Kidd locked Woods back into a pod to try to get the numbers name down again. The PTP eliminated Cesaro and Kidd as Cesaro was rolled up by Darren Young, leaving us with New Day and the PTP as our final two.
Big E was sent head first into a pod by Darren Young, Young and O’Neill had some serious momentum, but New Day would prevail. New Day set up O’Neill for Trouble in Paradise from Kofi, and then all three tag champs piled onto Titus to get the pin and the win.
It was a fun match with a lot of people involved, and hopefully leads to some new rivalries, including PrimeTime Players vs The New Day and Kidd & Cesaro vs a stronger looking Ascension now. The tag division is exciting right now, and is still being lead by the power of positivity!
