WWE Match of the Year Candidates Halfway Through 2015

Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar (c) and Roman Reigns via pinfall to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It turns out that the next big match Roman Reigns competed in could be argued as another “Match of the Year” candidate.

Reigns and Brock Lesnar began this as a one-on-one match for the title. It became a hard-hitting slug fest right off the bat, as The Beast clobbered Reigns. The story telling of this was great, however, and showed why Lesnar is an unstoppable force.

The biggest moment of this match would come at the end. As both men were down in the ring, Seth Rollins, Money in the Bank briefcase in hand, came down and cashed in his contract. This inserted himself into the match immediately.

Things got very chaotic and dramatic as Rollins tried to win the match. He would do so with a thunderous curb stomp on Reigns to secure the pin and win the title. This moment, on top of the preceding match, makes this a definite “Match of the Year” candidate.
