WWE Raw Review: Brock Lesnar Crushes, NXT Women Take Over

Rusev comes out and talks about being the greatest US Champion ever. He then insults Lana.

Kevin Owens then comes out and says he wants the title match tonight so he can beat Cena in a rematch on Sunday. He says to take his “Lana-wannabe” and his flag and get out of here.

Cesaro then comes out and gets in the face of Cena. Owens then pulls him away and starts arguing. Owens, Cesaro and Rusev then start brawling before we go to break.

A triple threat number one contender match gets announced. The winner takes on Cena for his title.

Kevin Owens vs. Rusev vs. Cesaro

Result: Rusev defeats Cesaro and Kevin Owens via pinfall to become the number one contender for the WWE United States Championship.

  • Owens and Rusev start going after Cesaro before things break down. Owens then went after Rusev.
  • Cesaro came back with an uppercut on Owens and Rusev hit a cannonball on the former NXT Champion.
  • Owens attempted a senton off the top rope but was countered into a near-fall.
  • Rusev and Cesaro then went at it. The Bulgarian hit a suplex to get a near-fall.
  • Owens and Rusev would go to the top rope and try a superplex. However, Cesaro grabbed them and hit a Tower of Doom!
  • Cesaro and Rusev would go to the top rope until Owens pulled off the former. He planted a DDT on the Swiss Superman for a near-fall.
  • Rusev would look for a German suplex but Owens switched it. Cesaro then grabbed Owens and German suplexed him while Owens did the same to Rusev. Wow!
  • As Cesaro went for the swing, Owens hit a superkick. He then hit a moonsault for a near-fall.
  • Rusev went for The Accolade on Cesaro but got superkicked by Owens. Rusev would pick him up and hit an Alabama Slam.
  • The Bulgarian went for The Accolade on Owens and locked it in. Cesaro broke it with a kick and suplex of his own.
  • “He’s mine, you hear me? He’s mine!” – Kevin Owens on John Cena.
  • After Rusev got Owens out of the ring, the latter walked out of the ring and said he’ll wait for Sunday.
  • After the break, Cesaro hit a springboard spinning uppercut. It’s awesome every time.
  • Rusev would counter with a big suplex off the ring apron and onto the floor. Wow.
  • As Rusev went back to the top rope, Cesaro hit an uppercut and a dropkick. He went for a superplex but got thrown off. Rusev jumped off and got put into a cross-face. He would break out of it and hit a big side slam.
  • Cesaro attempted a sharpshooter but got countered. Rusev then got him down and went for The Accolade. Cesaro broke out of this and went for the swing. He put it into a sharpshooter but Rusev broke the hold.
  • Rusev would leave the ring and get hit with a dive and uppercut.
  • In the ring, Rusev hit a superkick and defeated Cesaro.
