Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens

Result: Randy Orton defeats Kevin Owens via disqualification.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Sheamus was on commentary for this.

Orton and Owens began yelling in each other’s face before The Viper went after him with a few punches.

The two began brawling outside the ring with Orton whipping Owens into the barricade.

In the ring, Orton stomped on Owens’ legs. The former NXT Champion came back with a clothesline and punch before being drop kicked. Owens drove Orton in the post and hit a fall away slam into the barricade.

We come back to see Owens in control with a hold and clothesline for a near-fall. He continued with another clothesline and knee to the chest for a near-fall. He went for a cannonball but Orton rolled out of the way.

Orton hit a clothesline and powerslam. Owens rolled to the apron and Orton got suckered in for the DDT. Sheamus would hit a Brogue Kick to cause a DQ.

Cesaro would come in for help and take out both Sheamus and Owens. However, the former ROH star hit him with a popup powerbomb.

Rob’s Note: Looks like we’re on our way to two one-on-ones at SummerSlam or a tag match between these heels and faces. The tag match would be better, as many do not want to see Orton and Sheamus go head to head for a second straight PPV. Plus it gets plenty of talent into one ring to put on a great match at the four hour show.

John Cena Interview

Renee asks Cena what-if Seth Rollins defeats him. He calls tonight’s title defense means more than ever because he’s facing the “golden boy.” He says Rollins will defeat him or he’ll lay out the punishment.
