Dean Ambrose vs. Big Show

Result: Big Show defeats Dean Ambrose via count out.

Rating: 2.2 out of 5 stars

The Miz was on commentary for this.

Big Show tore Ambrose’s hurt, which didn’t phase him. He hit a flurry of punches before getting Show out of the ring. He then hit a dropkick and dive on the World’s Largest Athlete.

Ambrose would go for an elbow off the top rope and get slapped as we went to break.

We come back to see Show in control of Ambrose, who was holding his leg. Ambrose untied Show’s boots to distract him and buy some time.

Ambrose would lock in a sleeper hold and attempt a move off the top rope. However, Show caught and threw him. He nearly got the pin. Ambrose would counter a move of Show’s for a DDT to even the odds.

The Lunatic Fringe would slap Show a few times before being choke-slammed. Ambrose kicked out at two from this.

Ambrose got choke-slammed again but rolled out of the ring. Show then hit a superkick to get him out again. He speared him, too. Somehow, Ambrose got back in the ring. Just as he got in, he jumped back out.

Ambrose got Show back out of the ring but as he went for a dive, he got punched and collapsed to the ground. He would get counted out.

After the match, Show went to attack him but Ambrose side-stepped and sent him into the barricade.

Rob’s Note: A case of WWE’s 50/50 booking, which has been criticized in the past. They built sympathy for Ambrose in this match and ultimately had him “stand tall,” despite losing. This wasn’t bad overall but felt counterproductive, making this almost pointless.

Summary: Show looks better as a number one contender for Ryback and Ambrose doesn’t take a fall. Then gets reversed. Moving on.
