NJPW G1 Climax Day Six Review
Kazuchika Okada vs. Satoshi Kojima
Result: Kazuchika Okada defeats Satoshi Kojima via pinfall.
Rating: 3.6 out of 5 stars
Kojima began with a long hold and a one count on Okada. He then hit a shoulder tackle on the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Okada would get shoulder tackled on the outside.
Okada finally got an edge after drop-kicking Kojima out of the ring. He threw Kojima into the barricade and hit a DDT onto the floor.
In the ring, Okada hit a running dropkick and locked in a straitjacket. After an Irish whip, Kojima countered with a kick and clothesline. He then hit a DDT.
Kojima connected with five chops but got DDT’d by Okada. He hit an uppercut for a near-fall.
Kojima countered Okada’s offense with a cutter and hit him with more hard chops. He would get a near-fall.
Kojima hit a suplex and a cutter, this time off the ropes. Okada would drop down after Kojima attempted a move. The referee checked on him but he looked good to go.
Okada dropped Kojima’s head on his knee and slammed him into the middle of the ring. This set up a flying elbow.
Okada went for Rainmaker, missed and hit a fireman’s carry for a near-fall. Kojima finally came back with a clothesline after a missed dropkick.
After awhile, Okada hit a dropkick and connected with a Tombstone. He would hit Rainmaker for the win.
Rob’s Note: This was a very good match. It may not be something you rush back to see but Okada and Kojima worked very well together. Their matches are always worth looking forward to.
