Rusev w/Summer Rae vs Jack Swagger
Result: Rusev def. Swagger by submission (Accolade)
Rating: 2.9 stars out of 5 stars
Rusev cuts a promo on Lana being disrespectful. He says he knows Lana is jealous and promises to care for “Hot Summer”. Rusev starts getting romantic and is interrupted by Jack Swagger.
Swagger gets a huge ovation since he was a former Sooner at Oklahoma University. A massive USA chant starts as the match begins. Swagger starts out with the edge but Rusev quickly regains control. Rusev hits a big splash on Swagger while he’s tied up in the ropes. Swagger manages to get in position for the Patriot Lock which lets him get some offence in.
The action trades back and forth with Swagger continuing to get some power moves in. Swagger hits the Swagger Bomb for a close 2 count. Rusev rolls out of the ring to create space from Swagger. Rusev manages to overcome the Real American and the USA chants and locks in the Accolade, but Swagger powers out of it at first. Rusev manages to lock it back in for the submission victory.
After the match, Rusev tries to attack Swagger but Jack puts him in the Patriot Lock, but Rusev is able to escape and Swagger stands tall to end the segment.
Evan’s Notes: The action tonight has been getting better as the night goes on. Swagger was given lots of time in front of his home state, but Rusev went over in what was never a big surprise. Swagger got to stand tall, and it was nice to see him in action on a main show.
Two other notes: Swagger looks like Biff from Back to the Future, and imagine Rusev as the third Uso brother, R-UCE-V. Just imagine it.
