Lucha Underground Championship Match
Prince Puma (c) vs. Mil Muertes
Result: Mil Muertes defeats Prince Puma via pinfall to win the Lucha Underground Championship.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Puma and Muertes began with quick right hands. Puma took down Muertes with head scissors and went for a dropkick but Muertes still stood. He clotheslined Puma out of the ring.
Action went straight to the bleachers. Puma hit Muertes with a sign and the two began trading right hands.
On the steps, Puma kicked Muertes in the gut and slammed his face into the bleachers. When the two got up, Puma picked up Catrina and used her legs to kick Muertes multiple times.
Puma then threw multiple uppercuts but got slammed by Muertes, who then cleared part of the fans at ringside and tossed Puma into the chairs.
Puma then spun in the air and hit a big kick to the head of Muertes. He followed this by taking out a table and setting it up. Muertes would punch Puma in the gut and slam his head on the table. Puma then tossed him into the railing and hit a roundhouse kick.
Muertes would throw Puna off the steps, pick up the steps and place them down. Muertes would powerbomb Puma onto the steps!
As Muertes went up with a chair, Puma dropkicked him. He then went for a big dive but Muertes demolished him in mid-air with a chair!
Back in the ring, Muertes placed a chair between the ropes. He went to throw Puma into it but missed. Puma responded with a stomp to the chest on Muertes.
Muertes hit a huge right hand on Puma to send him down. Muertes went to run after Puma but went into the chair! Puma would hit a big move for a near-fall.
Puma then went for the 630 flip but missed as Muertes moved away. Muertes would hit a huge powerslam for a near-fall.
Muertes then hit ten big punches on Puma, sending him down. Puma responded with a sidekick and another acrobatic kick to Muertes.
Puma hit a Northern Lights suplex and another big suplex for a near-fall.
Catrina would raise the stone, leading to Muertes rising up. Puma would run after him but get clubbed in the face. Puma responded with a kick to the face but got speared onto the floor by Muertes! He then powerbombed Puma through the table.
In the ring, Muertes nearly got the pinfall.
Muertes would plant his thumb in Puma’s mouth and slam him down again. Muertes would go to the corner and attempt a move but miss. Puma hit a superkick and punch before connecting with another roundhouse.
Puma went to the ropes for the 630 and connected but Muertes threw him off during the attempted pin1
Puma went for the 630 again but Muertes rolled out of the way. He hit a monstrous spear on Puma that flipped him in mid-air. He followed this Flatliner but Puma kicked out! This left Muerts in shock.
Puma would get up and kick Muertes. He went for the 630 but Muertes rose up. The two went to the top rope and battled. Puma threw Muertes off but the latter came up and hit Flatliner off the top rope for the win.
After the match, the Disciples of Death came out to celebrate with Muertes and Catrina.
Rob’s Note: This was some match, wow. Puma and Muertes are both elite in the ring and it definitely showed here.
Now Muertes, Catrina and the Disciples of Death will rule Lucha Underground going into season two. Can they be stopped?
After the Show
After the match we see Cueto and the woman rushing to leave his office. They get into a car and drive away with a luchador in the car.
We then see Fenix drive away.
Marty the Moth is then with Sexy Star in a dark room and says she will meet his sister in a dark, sinister way.
Son of Havoc says to Angelico they will get the titles back. He drives away Ivelisse on a motorcycle.
We see Drago and Aerostar part ways through a curtain.
Pentagon then asks Vampiro where they’re going next. Vampiro looked like the Emporer from Star Wars in this.
We then see one final graphic of Cueto with the lights going out and “to be continued…”
