A recap of Heyman’s promo from Monday Night RAW is shown. I love how Lesnar is on the pedestal and they’ve titled it the “Last Rites”. A fantastic promo from the best in the business.
Big Show Interview
Big Show is interviewed by Rich Brennan. Big Show is asked about Ryback and he compares him to a Rocky movie, but says there is no way for Ryback to win. He says Miz has a part time role in the match, and if he tries to make it a starring role he’ll destroy the money maker. Big Show says him knocking out Miz is a movie everyone should want to see.
Roman Reigns vs Rusev w/ Summer Rae
Result: Reings def. Rusev by pinfall (Spear)
Rating: 2.9 stars out of 5 stars.
Match starts with a staredown where Rusev attacks first. Rusev is able to get the upper hand, using kicks to take out Reigns. He runs Roman into the ring post as we go to our first commercial break of the main event.
Back from the commercial and Rusev is still firmly in control of the match. Reigns begins to fight back as the crowd chants U.S.A. Rusev stays in control until he misses a splash off of the second rope. Reigns gets a head of steam and lands a bunch of clotheslines to Rusev. Reigns hits his ring apron drop kick, and hits a nasty deadlift suplex to Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute manages to hit a spinning heel kick to Rusev for a 2.9 count. Reigns manages to catch a Rusev kick and hit him with a powerbomb for another close call. Reigns remains standing after a Rusev superkick and lands a Superman Punch.
Summer Rae tries to get involved and Lana makes her way out and tackles her. Lana slaps Summer and then makes her way back to the back. Rusev is distracted yelling at Lana, but he recovers to hit a superkick that gets a close 2 count. Reigns manages to come back with a huge spear for the victory.
Reigns stands tall to end the show… OR DOES HE?
Wyatt comes on the titantron. He says he tried to warn Roman and that his hands will bring Roman’s empire to the ground. Wyatt officially accepts Roman’s challenge for Summerslam. Wyatt says he welcomes this war to end Smackdown.
