10 Things That Must Happen at SummerSlam

Dean Ambrose doesn’t turn heel
There has been a lot of speculation building to this “Family vs Family” tag team that it will conclude with Dean Ambrose turning on Roman Reigns, becoming heel. This is after a solid year of pushing him as the crazed underdog babyface, with the Lunatic Fringe’s natural charisma endearing him to the WWE Universe. As such, Ambrose should not turn on the fans and his partner, because it simply won’t take hold. This isn’t an argument that Reigns is unpopular and should have turned heel months ago, but that fans will still cheer for Ambrose whether the creative team present him as the bad guy, making it an unnecessary move.
SummerSlam should set the gradual process of building to a Shield triple threat match at WrestleMania 32, particularly with this contest. Frictions between the pair could start a rivalry that grows over time and overshadows their brotherhood, but that does not mean that Ambrose should have to turn heel. Reigns would first of all make a far better heel being that he is the stronger, bigger and supposedly more dominant of the pair, leading to a story that Ambrose was holding him back and was beneath him. Yet, the benefits of this tag team encounter should not rest on if one of the team turns on the other, and should simply be an exciting, physical clash with the Wyatts.
