Final Thoughts
Top to bottom, that was easily the best card since Wrestlemania. When combined with NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn yesterday, this was one of the best weekends for WWE wrestling or wrestling in general in as long as I can remember. Every competitor on the roster brought it from opening bell to closing moments.
The two main events were two instant classics. Rollins and Cena was a clinic of wrestling skill that (even though it had a strange finish) did have a fantastic result that not many people saw coming. Rollins having both titles will be interesting and will make a ton of people tune in to RAW.
Undertaker and Lesnar just had chapter two of what is sure to be a longer story. The finish to the match was the only thing took away from the match as it was another dusty finish. Aside from that it had so many instant classic moments, like the laughing while sitting on the mat and the F5 through the table that it will still hold up to the test of time.
Owens and Cesaro was a fantastic pure wrestling match between two indy darlings. The New Day are back on top as one of the best heel tag teams of the last 5 years. The Divas elimination style match had a little bit of interesting booking but was still a well done Divas match. Wyatts and the Shield boys had an entertaining tussle. Stephen Amell did a massive dive and had one of the best celebrity matches of all time.
Overall, WWE put on two fantastic cards this weekend and Summerslam definitely lived up to the hype.
