WWE SummerSlam Winner: New Day

The New Day became the WWE Tag Team Champions for the second time last night. They defeated the incumbent champions, Prime Time Players, Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores.

New Day had a terrific run as champions back in the early part of summer. They were entertaining and made the tag team division feel relevant. Unfortunately, they lost their titles in a lackluster match to PTP at Money in the Bank, which only lasted for 5 minutes.

Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would go onto get even more over with the fans over the next two months. Despite being heels, they drew a reaction that made fans love them because they, again, entertained.

Then SummerSlam happened. New Day went in as partial favorites and walked out with their second win to become WWE Tag Team Champions. They did it in a very fun bout too that featured a big spear from Big E through the ropes and a controversial finish at the end. You can’t forget the song before the match started, either.

So New Day reigns supreme once again. Can they continue spreading the power of positivity with gold?
