WWE Should Call Up Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady
Why WWE must call up Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. If they don’t, they may be too “SAWFT.”
What was once a desolate wasteland filled with the Usos, the Brotherhood, and even New Age Outlaws, is now a beautiful, bright, botanical garden. If that’s too metaphorical for you, I’m talking about the WWE Tag Team Division. Seemingly out of nowhere, the tag division was revived thanks to the reunion of the Prime Time Players, the formation of the New Day, and the emergence of the Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores.
As if that wasn’t enough, then the Dudley Boyz returned, adding even more pop to this once bare division. They’re back, they’re putting guys through tables, and they’re aggressively asking if we know who they are. The nostalgia is almost immeasurable, but that’s besides the point. What’s important is that there’s a way to set this division over the top. And that is to call up Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

Enzo and Cass are one of the hottest tag teams in NXT, but they currently find themselves outside the title picture, with the Vaudevillains winning the tag titles from Blake and Murphy at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. But, as anyone who watched Takeover will tell you, Enzo and Cass are ready for the main roster. They’re polished in the ring, they’re extremely over with the crowd, and they can add even more fuel to the tag team fire on the main roster.
It’s no secret that the Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores are essentially the jobber tag teams at the moment. Los Matadores probably wouldn’t even be a team if it weren’t for El Torito and his appeal to kids. As far as the Lucha Dragons go, they’re really fun to watch, but without any shred of work done on the mic at this point, they’re unlikely to be anything more than a semi-formidable opponent to the more proven teams on the roster.
So, considering those two teams could easily fade into obscurity, that leaves room for a team with more potential to join the fold. Enter Enzo and Cass. If WWE is going to continue with this trend of having 4-way or even 6-way tag team matches, then how exciting would it be if a majority of those teams had a legitimate shot at winning the titles? And even with the various teams and gimmicks we’ve seen in the tag division lately, Enzo and Cass add a truly unique dimension.
While Titus O’Neill and Darren Young have their own version of the big guy/small guy dynamic, Enzo and Cass utilize it in a more effective way, with the best example being their “Assisted Splash” move. In addition to that, their gimmick is basically that they’re cool, and as simple as it is, I think I speak for most of the WWE Universe when I say we’re on board with it.
Enzo and Cass are ready for the big time, and if they come to the main roster in the middle of a Dudley Return, New Day title reign, and PTP quest to regain their gold, they would push the tag team division over the top. Enzo and Cass could start, dare I say, a tag team revolution.
