Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Result: Dolph Ziggler defeats Rusev via disqualification.

Rating: 2.6 out of 5 stars

This is a rematch from SummerSlam.

Ziggler began trying to get a hold on Rusev but got tossed. Ziggler responded by chasing him out of the ring.

Back in the ring, Rusev would begin stomping away on Ziggler and hit a boot to the face for a near-fall. He then began working on Ziggler’s ribs before the Showoff began rallying for a moment. Rusev recovered and got a near-fall.

Ziggler would go for a sleeper hold on Rusev and lock it in. Rusev would back him into a corner to break it and send Ziggler out of the ring as we went to break.

We come back to see Rusev in control in the ring but Ziggler rolled out of the way from a move. He threw a few punches and a kick but Rusev hit a clothesline to take him down. He then locked in a Bear Hug-looking hold and kneed Ziggler in the gut.

Ziggler would get back into it by hitting a big DDT. He then hit a few running clotheslines and a splash in the corner. He went for a neck-breaker but got suplexed. Rusev hit a senton for a near-fall.

Rusev went for a superkick but Ziggler countered it and went for a pin. Rusev would knock him down and go for a pin of his own.

Ziggler then hit a big superkick for a near-fall. Rusev would roll out of the ring, leading to Ziggler chasing him. However, Rusev would begin attacking only to be thrown into the steel steps. The two would nearly get back into the ring at the count of 9.

Rusev then hit a massive superkick and went for The Accolade. However, Ziggler countered and went for the superkick and hit the Zig-Zag. Summer Rae would come in and pull him off for the DQ.

After the match, Summer Rae and Lana would brawl with the babyfaces standing tall.

Rob’s Note: This was a decent match. The DQ obviously hurts it but it means we’re getting more.
