New Day vs. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Jimmy Uso
Result: No Decision (interference)
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars
The match starts with Woods and Reigns going toe to toe. Reigns tags in Ambrose and the former Shield teammates hit a double suplex on Woods. New Day manages to isolate Ambrose from his partners, but he gets a hot tag to Uso who comes in and takes out all the members of New Day. In the scuffle, Ambrose hits a suicide dive and then assists Uso in doing his own suicide plancha to Kofi and Woods on the outside. Uso rolls the legal man Kofi back in the ring, but Big E hip tosses Uso to the outside as we go to break.
New Day has Uso isolated when we get back from break, utilizing quick tags and stomps. Woods goes to the outside and grabs his trombone while Kofi and Big E lay in to Jimmy Uso. Woods gets cocky and taunts Jimmy while in the ring and the Uso hits a super kick to Woods. Reigns gets a hot tag from Uso and demolishes New Day. He lays forearms into Xavier Woods and hits a drive by drop kick on the outside. New Day uses their numbers to distract Reigns who gets caught by Woods with a tornado DDT. Ambrose gets involved and hits a Dirty Deeds to Kofi. Ambrose also hits a rebound clothesline to Big E. Woods sets up Reigns for an Honor Roll, but gets Superman Punched instead. Reigns tags Jimmy Uso who goes up for an Uso Splash.
The lights go out and the Wyatts appear at the top of the ramp with Strowman choking out Uso as Reigns and Ambrose look on. Ambrose and Reigns give chase but the lights go back out and the Wyatts disappear, leaving Uso out cold on the ramp. A voice over of Bray Wyatt says “they all fall down” and laughs to end the segment.
Evan’s Note: A great segment overall that continues the theme of the Wyatts eliminating anyone who could be a partner for the former Shield members. The match itself was well done and had great six man action. New Day continue to be one of the best acts on the roster, and Ambrose and Reigns were their stellar selves in the match.
It was also great to see Jimmy Uso also get back in the ring, though I will miss the “Uce Counter” each week on the broadcast.
