Ryback vs. Seth Rollins (Non-Title Lumberjack Match)

Result: Seth Rollins defeats Ryback via pinfall (Pedigree).

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Tons of lumberjacks outside the ring in this match, and Rollins immediately begins jawing at the lumberjacks about how good he is once he has Ryback in a headlock. Rollins gets hip tossed and goes to roll to the outside but thinks twice about it. He rolls out again but is tossed in by the Lucha Dragons and Dolph Ziggler.

Rollins whips Ryback to the outside who drops Bo Dallas immediately. He puts himself back in the ring and is jumped by Rollins. Ryback goes shoulder first into the ring post and gets jumped by the lumberjacks, who attack Ryback and each other as we go to break.

Back from break and Rollins is in control of the Intercontinental Champ Ryback. The lumberjacks cheer on Ryback when he gets caught in a chokehold by Rollins. Ryback gets slapped by Rollins and then turns on him and unloads right hands in the corner. Ryback ends up on the outside again and when Big Show tries to attack Ryback, he gets confronted by Mark Henry who he KO punches. Big Show gets run off to the back by Ziggler, the PTP and the Dudley Boyz.

Rollins goes for a suicide dive on Ryback on the outside but gets caught with a forearm. Ryback hits a huge spinebuster, but can’t connect with a Meathook Clothesline. Rollins charges at Ryback who sends the Architect over the ropes and crashing onto some lumberjacks. The lumberjacks all start to attack each other in the ring as chaos unfolds. The Lucha Dragons hits some suicide dives to the Ascension on the outside. All the lumberjacks clear out except for Owens who hadn’t moved all match. Seth goes for a Pedigree, but gets reversed and hits a Meathook. When Ryback goes for a Shellshocked, Owens grabs his feet and knocks him down. Rollins hits the Pedigree and picks up the pinfall victory. Owens stares down Ryback from the ramp and Rollins taunts at the entry way to end SmackDown.

Evan’s Note: The match itself was not much of a match as the lumberjacks took over, including taking over the ring. However the match gets props for continuing a lot of different angles, including the whole locker room hating Big Show, Kevin Owens going after Ryback’s title, and the Lucha Dragons taking exception to the Ascension’s beat down earlier in the match.
