3. Sting Pushes Seth Rollins to the Limit
A few weeks ago we saw Sting return to WWE. He was automatically placed into the spot of challenger to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. How did he do that? He stole Seth’s statue.
This week on Raw we saw the rest of that story play out. Seth started the show with another in-ring promo, talking about how great he is again and how that statue should be in the office of the Authority to remind them how great he is. Sting eventually appears on the big screen, along with the statue, basically telling Rollins that if he wants the statue he needs to come and get it. From there they basically went back and forth all night until we finally saw the statue meet its end.
Seth was far from happy but he needs to focus a bit more on the upcoming challenges he faces. A WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Sting, coupled with the mandatory defense of his United States Championship against former champion John Cena are both coming in the same night. Add to that the possibility that if he retains against Sting there’s still the chance of a Money in the Bank cash in from briefcase holder, Sheamus. There’s a lot that Seth needs to think about in the next seven days.
This was a great way to further the Sting vs Rollins feud, whilst throwing in the seeds of a Seth vs Triple H match in the future. Many people will only know Sting from his WCW days, the TNA chapter of his career will have been missed by a lot of the audience, this is the perfect way to get him over with the crowd.
