- Texas Bullrope Match
Sneaking into the top 15 of greatest gimmick match types of all time is a match that hasn’t been seen all that often, and one that could go down in different ways.
A battle to who can touch four corners first. When this match is mentioned, most fans will remember the classic match that JBL and Eddie Guerrero put on at the Great American Bash in 2004.
This was a different, fresh way for two wrestlers to do battle once again. This was just a month after JBL destroyed Eddie with a chair shot to the head at Judgement Day.
The Texas Bullrope Match was recently brought back in the form of a Russian Chain Match with Rusev and John Cena doing battle, a nice throwback to this classic match. There have been some older Texas Bullrope Matches that just used the rope as a weapon, without the corners being a key part of it.
When the WWE is at its best, match endings are different, fresh and unique. Fans clamor for something different than the standard ways for matches to end.It is this different way of ending a match that lands the Texas Bullrope Match at number 15.
