  1. Ladder Match

The ladder match changed the game for the WWE. The idea of using a ladder for a weapon was foreign for a long time before the ladder match changed the game.

And it was revolutionized by Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon during their WrestleMania 10 ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. Since those two tore the house down, the use of ladders has been a staple of WWE. The ladder has become a key part of WWE storytelling, with ladder matches being ranked among some of the best in WWE history.

Then a stable of tag teams came along and re-revolutionized what could be done with a ladder. Those three tag teams provided WWE fans with great spots, and goosebumps type moments that changed what the WWE was able to do in the squared circle.
Today, the ladder match is used for a different purpose which we will get to before this list is over. The ladder is one of the few tools that the WWE has maximized their use of and they have kept it fresh over the years.

It was the match that could be attributed with starting the trend of gimmick matches we see today.
