  1.  Buried Alive Match

Just missing out on the top five is a match that really wasn’t a match, but more a battle to survive with more than just a victory at stake. As a kid, this match was a sight to see. You thought that some of your favorite wrestlers could die by partaking in this match. It was about as real as it could get it for these wrestlers.

Another gimmick attached to the character of the Undertaker, the Buried Alive match is the quintessential psychological warfare match for a superstar facing the Undertaker. How can you bury something that won’t die?  It felt like a lose-lose for any superstar stepping in the ring with the Dead Man.

Despite that, some superstars would attempt to bury the Undertaker in a grave built at the top of the entrance ramp.

In kayfabe, this was a career defining match. Bury the Undertaker and you avoided death. Get buried and your career and life could be over. It added a level of drama and realism to feuds that was missing at times.

There have been five of these in WWE history, with the Undertaker taking part in all five. The drama and realism that the buried alive match brought to the table is why this match is at number six on our list.
