21) John Cena vs. Randy Orton – WWE World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match, WWE Hell in a Cell 2014

Nobody wanted to see Cena and Orton face off again. The two had just feuded at the end of 2013 and into the early part of 2014. Even before that, these two went through multiple extensive feuds over the years. WWE had worn out the fans of this rivalry and had no interest in seeing this happen at Hell in a Cell last year.

So what happened? WWE put Orton and Cena in a no. 1 contender’s match for Brock Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Fans moaned and groaned over this announcement because no one wanted to see these two battle again. They had just fought at TLC 2013 and Royal Rumble 2014 to a chorus of boos from the fans.

As for the match, it didn’t turn out to be bad but it wasn’t anything memorable. The two men pulled out a flurry of moves in this 25-minute match that resulted in Cena getting the win.

Mr. HLR would go onto lose his title match at Royal Rumble 2015, so it makes this even less important.
