18) D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) vs. The Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes) – WWE Hell in a Cell 2009

To top off the 2009 Hell in a Cell PPV, we had our third match inside the steel structure between DX and Legacy. This was the second match that Triple H and Shawn Michaels teamed in inside Hell in a Cell and the first time for Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

These two teams faced off at WWE SummerSlam, with DX winning. The Legacy would get a victory in a rematch a few weeks later, leading to this Hell in a Cell match being created.

Things began right off the bat when Legacy attacked DX while they were doing their entrance. This led to Rhodes hitting Cross Rhodes on The Game on the entrance ramp and locking HBK inside the cell. Triple H would eventually work his way in with pliers and lock out Rhodes. DX would win a short time later.

This was another physical Hell in a Cell match but it wasn’t anything special. It does rank over the previous two Hell in a Cell matches on this show, however.

As noted above, DX wrestled in two Hell in a Cell matches. Where does their first one rank on this list?
