Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn may have suffered one of the most poorly timed injuries in the history of WWE. His debut on the main roster was in his home country of Canada, he was introduced by Bret “The Hitman” Hart, and he got as big of a crowd reaction as you can possibly hear. Then, he got too hyped, threw his arms in the air, and hurt his shoulder.

Despite all this, Sami Zayn may have given us the most entertaining U.S. Open challenge match to date. Despite suffering the injury right before the match, he powered through and put on a classic with Cena. Zayn pulled out all the stops, most notably hitting his through-the-ropes DDT (which is more impressive knowing he had an injured shoulder).

According to Wrestling Inc, Zayn was expected to be out until October. It seems like it could be perfect timing for Zayn to potentially answer the open challenge again, and maybe even take the title at an upcoming Pay-Per-View, whether it be Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, or something later. Whichever direction they decided to take it, if Zayn were the next U.S. Champion, he would have unfathomable momentum. Then, there could potentially be some champion vs champion matches with Zayn facing off against his rival and current Intercontinental Champion, Kevin Owens.
