John Cena Promo

Cena gets a cheap pop for playing to the Allstate Arena. He talks about having his first WWE match at the arena.

Cena says he is the man to beat and opens the match.

John Cena (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Result: John Cena defeats Dolph Ziggler via pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Rating: 3.6 out of 5 stars

Cena began this match with an arm drag and hold on Ziggler’s left arm. Cena then calls for a mic and acknowledges a marriage in the crowd. Ziggler then put on an arm bar as we went to break.

We come back to see Ziggler with a sleeper hold on Cena. Ziggler hit an elbow and a neckbreaker for a near-fall.

Ziggler then hit a flurry of elbows on Cena before missing with the last one. Cena then began his Five Knuckle Shuffle move set before Ziggler got up and hit a dropkick for a near-fall.

Cena looked for the AA but Ziggler reversed for a near-fall. Cena then put Ziggler into the STF before slipping out of it, putting Cena into a sleeper hold on the ground. Cena would pick him up and hit the AA but couldn’t capitalize on the pin.

Cena then took Ziggler to the top rope and went for the AA but countered. Ziggler instead hit a huge DDT for a near-fall.

Ziggler then started “Tuning up the band” for the superkick but Cena hit a massive clothesline.

Ziggler hit a dropkick and went for a splash but got caught. Ziggler would reverse it into the Fameasser for the near-fall. Wow!

Cena then put on the STF. However, he was able to reach the bottom rope.

Cena and Ziggler went back to the top rope. Ziggler headbutted him off and went for a cross-body but got caught. Cena went for the AA but Ziggler raked the eyes. He hit a huge superkick for a near-fall.

The two men then traded punches in the center of the ring. Ziggler then hit the Zig-Zag for the near-fall. Cena then hit the AA for the win.

Kane Backstage

We see Kane on the phone with The Authority. He says things are going good and that’s about it.
