Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins
Result: Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose via pinfall.
Rating: 4.2 out of 5 stars
What happened?
This turned out to be one of the better Hell in a Cell matches in recent memory. It was brutal, action-packed and sold the ongoing feud between Rollins and Ambrose, which was the best thing going on WWE TV at the time.
Just as it looked like Ambrose was about to win, the lights went out and a lamp appeared in the ring. Bray Wyatt then came up from behind and attacked Ambrose. Rollins would pin him moments later to get the win.
Did this match have any implications after the PPV?
The Ambrose and Wyatt feud had a lot of hype around it. The Eater of Worlds returning after the Wyatt Family being broken up was anticipated and he struck in a big way. However, their feud wasn’t much to note. The matches at Survivor Series, TLC and on Raw mostly fell flat and it left Ambrose’s stock lower than where it was in the fall.
Rollins would go onto take part in the Survivor Series 5-on-5 elimination match as part of Team Authority. He then went into a feud with John Cena and Brock Lesnar going into Royal Rumble. Then as you probably know by now, Rollins cashed-in Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 31 and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
