3 and 2. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)

Yes, the tag team division in the WWE needs plenty of depth to succeed or else we’ll find ourselves having a long-reign with a hodge-podge team that barely makes sense – exhibit A is brought to you by the duo of Matt Hardy and MVP.

These are two superstars who have been within WWE for several years. Viktor’s time started in Florida Championship Wrestling in 2011 and since then, he’s had a number of gimmicks that were a little more generic. Konnor is on his second run with the company from 2005-2007 and then from 2010 to now – ranging from a creepy gimmick where he acted like a rat to the darker characters in the Ascension.

What was once a darker stable first formed with Kenneth Cameron with some hints of being supernatural, the team of Konnor and Viktor then shifted from brooding to a ripoff of Demolition. They were booked with a dominant start on the main roster, but the momentum was lost after being beaten up by members of a reunion of the New World Order, New Age Outlaws and A.P.A.

You tend to lose credibility when you get beaten up by older legends and ring veterans that haven’t been in the ring regularly in more than a decade – just ask Heath Slater.
