Survivor Series (2006) – King Booker (c) vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship

There were some added stipulations to this match, if Batista lost, he couldn’t challenge Booker for the title again, if Booker got counted-out or disqualified, he would lose the title. This slight wrinkle to the match forced Booker to fight a straight up match, cheating would have cost him heavily.

The match got off to a fast start as Batista didn’t even let King Booker get to the ring, charging him during the champion’s entrance. Watching this match over it was a nice reminder of how good the King Booker gimmick was as he – and Queen Sharmell – was so incredibly annoying, it was a joy to watch Booker get beat up.

The ending was weird as Batista teased powerbombing Sharmell, Booker attempted to hit him with the title, missed, and Batista ended up using it on Booker, getting the 1-2-3. Not exactly proper behavior by a face, but oh well, for a main event the match wasn’t the great either, this one can be skipped.
