4) Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Jake Roberts, Jim Duggan & Brutus Beefcake (1987)

Before this match, both Savage and Roberts were pretty despicable heels, but thanks the Honky Tonk Man’s claim of being the “greatest Intercontinental champion ever” and a chair shot to the head, each guy eventually turned face.

Getting to the match itself, thanks to a brawl outside the ring with Harley Race (who Duggan was feuding with at the time), “Hacksaw” went out first. After trading eliminations, Honk Tonk Man eventually walked out on the match due to being outnumbered (such a heel move), so Savage, Steamboat, and Roberts survived the match.

I gave these guys the four spot because most of them (minus Savage) were a main staple to the mid-card scene for so many years, and had varying levels of popularity with the fans. This is more of an “under the radar” team, but I appreciate the long careers each one of them ended up having.

Ultimately, you had one of the finest wrestlers ever (Savage), one of the best faces ever (Steamboat), a guy who influence the future heavily (Roberts), a Hall of Famer (Duggan), and a guy who has wrestled for almost forty years (with over 9,000 gimmicks), potentially making the Hall of Fame (Brutus). A very well-rounded team (high-flyers and brawlers) that would hold up against just about anyone!
