WWE Survivor Series 2015: Preview

The match that has everyone talking this week has had everyone talking for all the wrong reasons. Charlotte and Paige are two of the most talented Divas on the roster, but a lack of build going into last Monday’s Raw resulted in a drastic, last-ditch effort to add some intensity to this match.

In case you hate the internet and pro wrestling and somehow haven’t heard about this controversy, you can read about it here or here… or here (get the picture?). But without that lone bombshell, this feud doesn’t have a lot to stand on.

Yes, on paper there is a story: Paige and Charlotte were best friends, and then Paige turned her back on Charlotte, and now the two are mortal enemies… Hmm, sounds familiar. That tried and true premise has been the basis for thousands of feuds in the past—some of which being plenty successful—so you can’t necessarily blame cliché for this situation. If anything, there was just too much going on elsewhere in the WWE Universe between the title tournament and the Wyatt Family/Brothers of Destruction feud, so the Divas (once again) were left out of the spotlight.

All that being said, don’t be surprised if Paige and Charlotte come out and put on a fantastic match despite the lack of buildup behind it. Both of these ladies are highly capable in the ring, and both have been known to lay it all on the line to draw attention back to the Divas division.
