Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall

Tyler Breeze, the King of Cuteville, Prince Pretty, and Sultan of the Selfie, wrestled Dolph Ziggler tonight in his first main roster pay-per-view contest. During the match it was like Ziggler was wrestling a mirror that could look back into his past.

The similarities between Ziggler and Breeze are obvious: Both are narcissistic pretty-boy blondes with exciting movesets and a way with the ladies. Here on Daily DDT alone we’ve considered pairing the two as a new Hollywood Blonde style tag team multiple times. While a tag team pairing may never come for these two, the similarities between them are still pretty impressive.

The match tonight was 2015 Ziggler vs 2009 Ziggler essentially, with a young self-obsessed blonde star making an impressive statement. Their careers may follow the same path, with a lower ceiling for Breeze. Some do not consider him a world-champion character and he may never get a real chance to have a run with the gold.

Breeze does have a chance to escape this spot – by getting a strong, consistent push. That push did start with his performance tonight and it shone through the broadcast:

Let’s hope Breeze gets another solid feud after this one with Ziggler. Also, Ziggler fell from a pretty high spot a year ago to this match here.
