Rey Mysterio

Former WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio has made no secret of his desire to return to the company in the near future, he would be perfect as a surprise entrant in the 2016 Rumble.

The ring is filling up with wrestlers, the countdown clock begins, hits zero and that familiar music hits, Mysterio flies into the air and charges down to the ring to resume his WWE career. An instantly recognisable character that WWE has done little to replace, despite the recent mini push for Kalisto, it doesn’t look like WWE has faith in anyone else to fill his boots. Rey was one of the biggest babyfaces the company had during his first run with the company and could jump right back in to the spot he left. There’s nobody like him at the top of the card and his presence would give WWE an undoubted boost.

Rey Mysterio is one of the most exciting in-ring talents the WWE has ever had. His unmatched high-flying style fitted so well, and made such an impact, that he was trusted with the companies biggest titles at the peak of his career. Even a return now, to face some of the heels that WWE has at the top would produce some outstanding matches. Throw him in with Brock Lesnar for some epic big man, little man wars. Put him out their with Kevin Owens and watch them tear up the main event scene. Or why not pit him against Alberto Del Rio, the Mexican against the MexAmerican would draw in a different demographic to anything they already have.

In short, WWE needs Rey Mysterio as much as Rey Mysterio needs WWE.
