Week Highlights: Established a new team of villains. Finally combed his hair.

The first week of Sheamus’ reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is in the books, and it’s off to a better start than many predicted.

In all senses of the WWE Power Rankings, Sheamus’ position on this list should have fallen under the League of Nations umbrella, but Sheamus deserves individual recognition for the work he’s done as champion thus far.

Sheamus is creating a niche persona for himself: He’s got the arrogance of Seth Rollins, yet he’s combined it with his own brawler tendencies. Sheamus isn’t running from matches with Roman Reigns; he’s embracing them. And he’s created an insurance policy with the League of Nations for whenever the tides of battle flow in Reigns’ favor.

His methods and tactics may be underhanded, but Sheamus isn’t necessarily afraid of Reigns or worried that his fledgling title run could be over just as quickly as it started. Sheamus continues to embrace his old demeanor of always being eager to fight; he’s just modified his approach to include fighting unfairly.

Anything can happen to his character between now and TLC, but currently there are just two words for Sheamus: not bad.
